Renée is the middle Cobalt child; she and her older brother Edward ‘Eddie’ were born America to an English mother and American father. They grew up in Beacon Hills where their father, Robert ‘Robbie’ was best friends with Noah Stilinski, and hence why Renée was close to Stiles and Scott during her childhood – they frequently played adventure games in the streets, using dragons and mythology as their villains. Their mother, Penelope ‘Penny’ had moved to America with her best friend Oscar ‘Car’ Cooper, who is the brother-in-law of Claudia Stilinski and uncle to Patrick ‘Pat’ – who is also Stiles’ cousin. She was also close to a girl named Tabitha ‘Tabby’ Matthews, who seemed like the calm and sensible one of their group when she hung around with them.

When Renée was six her family moved back to England, though no one really explained why to her. She spent years trying to figure out how to fit in and slowly lost her accent – much to Stiles and Scott’s amusement on phone calls and Skype calls.

At the age of ten everything changed. Not only was her younger sister Vanessa ‘Van’ born, she came into her magical powers. Penny had always had magic, not that she shared this with her children. Renée accidentally caused water to spurt out the tap while having an argument with Eddie, and that was the end of the secrecy in the family – they were lucky the event happened at home, but her parents had always been prepared for excuses and things if it hadn’t. Since then she has been trying to learn how to control her powers, but it’s easier said than done when she has to stay calm to do it.

A little after she’s turned sixteen, the Cobalts move back to Beacon Hills.

Renée herself loves reading, she loves an adventure and will always look out for a good mystery to sink her teeth into. Her ability to lie is something that has got better over the years with the whole not telling people about her powers, but she’s not great at it for anything else. She really hoped none of her friends would get caught up in the world of the supernatural, but that’s just not her luck.

Sweater

"Y/n." It was Penelope, she was whispering conspicuously as you entered the office heading for the conference room.

"Goodmorning!" You answer quickly as you were already running late due to your much needed coffee run this morning.

She begins to trail after you. "Y/n."

You stop, now wondering what's wrong, especially as all the heads in the room begin looking towards you as you walk in. But it isn't until Derek speaks up that you're hinted as to why,

"So you and pretty boy finally did it?" Oh no.

You mind races trying to figure out how he knew. Did Spencer tell him? You'd agreed not to tell anyone at first so you wouldn't cause absolute chaos. But it's been sixth months you guess it's be perfectly reasonable if-

"Your-your Sweater...its Spencers." Penelope elaborates, calming you rampant mind, all at the same time making it spasm.

You look down silently at what you're wearing, its almost identical as your regular getup, but because you were really running late this morning you'd grabbed a sweater from the couch in your shared apartment on your way out.

Completely missing the fact it was Spencers. It had been a soft cobalt blue color crew neck, one of his favorites with little designs lining it in navy...and also one he wore quite often.

You stared in both disbelief from how you'd manage to grab the one he used most consistently and also at your own stupidity and how you'd failed to notice the whole car ride here.

You look up bewilderedly, to find your colleagues staring at you all in varying ways, Derek was grinning, Rossi was smirking, Penelope had taken to a worried/excited look, Emily was respectfully trying to hide her smile and even Hotch was pretending to read the papers in front of him to avoid eye contact.

You attempt a reply calmly but stammer despite yourself,

"I-I-we-um"

closing your eyes to focus your thoughts and breathe, you open them to find Spencer your lovely boyfriend entering or rather staggering into the room.

He had taken the long route so you'd show up at different times,

"Hi! Sorry I'm late-I just-I-What-why's everybody looking at me like that?"

Everyone shaking their heads and smiling to themselves ignored his question as Penelope began to brief all of you on the case.

You hope the subject will be forgotten.

But of course it won't be, and surprisingly its Hotch that asks once the case had been explained and he'd called wheels up,

"Are you two dating?"

Everyone was still seated, waiting for something to be said, and you could see the pleasure in all their faces as he uttered the question.

Spencer swallowed though, not having become aware of the situation even after you'd tried to pass him a note like some third grader.

It had read: I'm wearing your sweater!

To which he'd simply responded with, I'm sure no one's noticed.

Having of course not been aware of your previous interaction with the team.

"We-uh-well-" he tried to begin

"Yes. We are dating." You had to confirm it, knowing if you didn't it would only make matters worse in the long run.

To that Hotch gave his lopsided smirk, "I'm Happy for you, but I'm not thrilled to do the paperwork."

The team of course having heard, errupted in giggles, reminiscent of child like giddy as they finally took it as their cue to leave.

And as they filed out Spencer received several pats on the backs and "good going reid" from Rossi and Derek as you yourself had been berated with questions from Emily and Penelope and "I swear to god if he hurts you-"'.

But as you both shyly retreat, gather your things and exit you agree that the best reaction had been from Hotch as he whispered quietly before he left,

"Well I guess I have to let you room together now."

Warning: description of blood, slight violence, flogging, racism, flogging, slaves, smut in maybe part 6?

Summary: Sheila was a slave taken by a British couple at the age of 12 for her singing. She was brought to America even though they had the 13th Amendment where slavery was abolished. She saw a friend of hers, who was brought with her, getting flogged and that was her last straw, proceeding to run away. Until she sees the most notorious outlaw in the South, then she settles to free her friends from the British couple that came to America for money.

It was July.25, 1878, Lincoln County, New Mexico. Sheila woke up to nothing but harsh screams coming from one of her friends as she was beaten and whipped. She felt worried because the girl was new…Unlike Sheila who had been with the owner since she was twelve, merely because his wife liked her singing when they had come to visit British India.

Her friend, Catherine, was a sad sixteen-year-old, mourning the death of her parents. They had threatened the owners of telling law enforcement what was happening but they knew that they wouldn't do anything about it.

The other slaves ran to her screams but were faced with fear and did nothing besides revel in their powerlessness. Sheila sat there, her damp brown skin and greasy raven hair clinging to her shell of a body. She knew how this would end, knew that they would be feeble against the man–Edward J. Mason– but she was ready to clean Catherine’s wounds and reassure her that she would be alright.

“Oh, look at my slave, Sheila, so obedient! You never have to hurt her, Edward!”

The sadistic gray-haired man chuckled, kissing his wife.

“ And aren’t I glad, Penelope! We chose her when she was twelve, it has been seven years since, of course, she’d love us, this is why I love Indians! They always gift us with beauty and trust.”

They both glanced at the gaunt, starved girl before chuckling. The Mistress patted Sheila’s head and reached for a rake beside her, beckoning to the other slaves. 

Penelope Mason was a woman no different from her husband. Many wives were afraid of their spouses but Penelope was a wife who had nothing but pride in her bones. The rake in Penelope’s hand was covered in blood, meant to whip the slaves that threatened their control and most times Sheila could willing block out the screeches and screams, but now she just felt angry, ready to beat the couple with no morals. 

But she was stuck being useless to defend them.

Fear is a burden that was attached to her like a drug, and only withdrawal held her back from screaming her heart out.

Until she found a boy with the brightest blue eyes. 

From what she’d heard, he was an outlaw.

Billy the Kid was infamous because he was the man who killed a sheriff months ago, and chased out of the state. It was a mystery how he gained the courage to return to New Mexico.

“ Who’re you?” The man questioned, his vibrant cobalt eyes gazing at her with hostility.

Sheila didn’t want to think more about the dominant color in his entire posture and frame. His clothes were darker than sin and brighter than the sun, but his eyes were the only thing she could pay attention to, causing her to ignore their proximity.

“ I am a slave, belonging to the Mason family.”

He tilted his head, shocked eyes analyzing their surroundings.

“ I didn’ ask what you were forced to be, I asked who you are.”

“ My name is Sheila, is that what you want?”

“ Huh, I’m Billy, but considerin’ the poster you were starin’ at a min’ ago, you already know that. But...how did you...No, how dare they have slaves!”

Last Song: The Challenge. I have been obsessed with the way the singer sounds since the demos and the way Penelope is shown in a single saga as Odysseus' equal through sheer force of musical motifs alone.

Favorite Color: Cobalt blue, forest green, true royal purple, or deep crimson.

Last Book: MADK vol 1 by Ryo Suzuri. Body horror yaoi about a human boy who summons a demon because he wants to eat demon flesh and gets off on it. Kid gets his soul taken because of the deal and starts his journey towards climbing the hierarchy of hell. It does a lot to remind you that demons are demonic but the protagonist has what it takes to be worse than all of them. It's got so many themes of cycles of abuse and is genuinely not interested in breaking them.

Last Movie: Muppet Christmas Carol. Annual tradition that I refuse to give up, it's the perfect Christmas movie.

Last TV Show: Arcane. First rewatch and the brainworms are real. So many thoughts on lore and characters and getting hit in the face with the details I didn't catch the first time. I continue to be obsessed with Zaunite twinks.

Here are all of my Harley headcanons, at least the ones I can remember/find important to mention! Under the break because there are A LOT

-He's Pansexual

-He and Peter are like brothers, and they both look up to Tony as a father figure

-He has an iron suit similar to Tony's, called "Cobalt". It's blue and gold.

-Kept contact with Tony after the events of IM3

-Failed Senior year of highschool in Rose Hill, so his mother agreed to send him to Tony on the condition that he pass highschool in New York (he does 👍)

-His favorite foods are his mom's Mac and Cheese recipe and Brownies

-Stoner/Skater vibes. Also low-key emo/in the emo/grunge range. Lots of big platform boots and chains. And a shit ton of piercings. (Mainly earrings & a septum piercing)

-Paints his nails and does his make up from time to time (not to oc post but he taught Raven how to do her nails)

-He sees Natasha as another mother figure, and turns to her when he and Tony are fighting

-Harley reminds Tony of himself when he was younger, and because of this they argue, a lot. Harley also thinks Tony favors Peter over him, and has a lot of older sibling jealousy

-Not really a Harley specific headcanon, but his mom's name is Crystal and his Sister/Sibling's name is Penelope or "Nel". When my AU takes place she's around 14 and identifies as Genderfluid :]

-Harley has a lot of PTSD related to the explosions caused by the extremis folks. It's never happened to him, but if he was ever out avenging and an explosion happened to close for comfort, it would most likely cause him a lot of anxiety.

-At the end of NWH, he shows up at Peter's door to be revealed to be Peter's roommate, even though of course, Harley doesn't remember Peter at all, Peter sure remembers him.

Okay, so Birdsnow was conceived as a Netflix MCU adaptation of the comic book story, "Death's Head," in which Karen (believing Matt to be dead? IIRC?) returns her family estate and Daredevil follows with brilliant idea of proposing marriage and also explaining that he faked Matt Murdock's death. But when Karen returns home, she discovers that her father, inventor of the cobalt bomb, has been experimenting with cobalt in his lab, going quite merrily mad all the while. Daredevil lucks out and discovers that Paxton Page has super powers.

So where was I going with this, especially since I said "fuck you" to the general impression (not confirmed at the time) of Penelope Page being dead?

It's actually only mildly insane: I was setting up various hints with Chuck and Todd -- and was planning to with Paxton as well; he was going to have a resurgence of the Page family's apparently-hereditary night terrors, and he was going to disappear during the hunting trip -- that they were being fear-conditioned as a test run for a neurosurgical intervention intended to enhance American soldiers.

By Dr. Penelope Page, MD, PhD, whose big project at the university "got shut down" (read: the IRB had a screaming panic attack at the idea of purring a chip in test subjects' brains that would affect their perception and experience of fear).

To be fair to Penny, it started out as something intended to combat PTSD. It just didn't stay that way.

Anyway, as Frank, Matt, and Karen were discovering this, Paxton Page -- a man with deeply held pacifist convictions, who abhorred taking life even in cases of self-defense -- would have returned with his hunting rifle... having decided that the only way to be free of the constant, terrible fear was to kill the woman and destroy the equipment inducing it.

It was all going to be a bit "Fall of the House of Usher," with Paxton and Penelope both dying as the carriage house burned.

But I never got there. Whoops.

No idea where Frank and Karen would have ended up. Probably "that weird unspoken more-than-friends thing, maybe with sex?? but no more clear definition to their relationship than before."

Typically there weren’t very many little days that were celebrated in Zaun, in comparison to topside. Every festivity was different, served a different purpose. However, one in particular that Jinx had taken to, was Father’s Day. A day in which you honor the man who took care of you? Helped you grow into someone strong and Independent? How could she not?

Many of the things she had made for Silco already had a place in his office, from dangling on the ceiling to the ashtray on his desk. Many of those were things she had made on whim, and some had some been some of the first successful bombs she had made, long set off and no longer working but had been put back together. This time she prepared something more personal, as she had spent a great deal of time welding and engraving in her workshop.

She waited until she had the go ahead to jump down from her hiding spot above his desk, landing beside him. Jinx gently sat down a small, square shaped box which contained an engraved silver and purple lighter, having made sure it worked being the final touch. The main part of it being a shark like shape welded in and an S inside the shape. “I made something for you, papa, will open it?” Her eyes were pleading as she slid the box to him, “Please?”

Zaun did not have much to celebrate, and this was reflected in the amount of holidays, they had. In fact, if you stopped a Zaunite on the street and asked them about their festivals, most would only mention three of importance: The Pale Death's Travel, The Dance of the Blue Swallow and Progress Day. Outside of this, one other holiday was sometimes celebrated:

Father's Day.

Silco had never celebrated that day himself as he had never known who his father was. He had left Penelope before Silco had even been born. And even now, having taken in Jinx, he did not automatically realise that she might end up celebrating Father's Day. Though she had gifted him many things before and he used everything, she had made for him, Silco had not anticipated for her to make him something special for Father's Day. In retrospect, maybe he should have.

"You can come down, Jinx", Silco said calmly, "I know you have been lurking around in the rafters." He did not even flinch when his daughter descended down from the rafters, a blur of alabaster, cobalt blue and black, and sent a few of his papers flying. Turning around to face her, his mismatched eyes fell upon the box in her hands. He met her gaze as Jinx slid the box to him and gave him a pleading look, urging him to open it.

Curiosity got the better of him. As calm and collected as Silco liked to pose himself, he was well aware of how inventive and creatively destructive Jinx could be. He wondered what marvel, she was hiding in that box. The paper rustled under his fingers as Silco carefully unwrapped the box and opened it. His eyes widened and his breath hitched as his gaze fell upon the most beautiful lighter, he had ever seen.

It was abundantly clear that Jinx had made the lighter herself. It was a beautiful piece of work, dark purple and silver forming a contrast, which would have made someone from Piltover envious. A shark-like shape wound its way around the lighter, almost like it was guarding it. Upon its back and along its minuscule fin, Jinx had carved the letter S. Silco picked up the lighter and tested it by flicking its fin, realising that this allowed the shark to open its jaws and release a fine, orange flame.

"It looks beautiful", Silco said as he looked at Jinx, caressing her cheek with a smile, "Thank you. I am touched that you wanted to honour me with such a gift, my little predator."

Oscar didn’t answer straight away. There were lots of horrors in his past, horrors that he didn’t want to think about, let alone talk about. It kind of came with the territory of being part of the supernatural world, being best friends with an Elemental. Even when the danger wasn’t something he faced, it terrified him to think of Penny dealing with things, no matter how well he knew she could cope with it alone.

He pushed his hair off his face; a small, amused smirk tugging at his lips in the hopes of covering the mild fear that had settled over him at the memories. ‘The first time me and Penny came over here,’ he said, chuckling softly. ‘Two kids from the UK exploring America alone because they wanted to escape expectations? Yeah, that was kind of terrifying but, like, in the best possible way.’

I want more spiders. I really want a cobalt blue and a goliath birdeater. And more brachypelma species. I only have a b. boehmei at the moment (Penelope) and she’s a feisty little one but she’s so cool as well.

My other two tarantulas are also quite skittish. I’d love a more chill species so that I can see them more. So far my most outgoing arachnid is my giant wolf spider Medea. She doesn’t give a single fuck and watching her hunt is so cool. She chases her crickets and digs for them if they hide in the leaves. Tarantulas typically just sit and wait.

With Penelope, I can imagine different types of experiments she would try.
